FAQs
For commuting, we recommend a solid lock, bright lights, a helmet, and practical storage like a rack or bag.
If your bike doesn’t include them, rear-view mirrors are a simple upgrade that can make traffic awareness and lane positioning feel more comfortable, especially in busy city riding. Many riders also add weather-friendly storage or a phone mount for navigation.
Yes, EMMO electric bikes are worth it for many riders because they combine practical everyday performance with safety focused components and Canada wide support.
On the product side, many EMMO models include upgrades you can feel in daily riding, such as SafeSeal™ technology lithium batteries, UL-certified electrical systems, and many more.
EMMO bikes are designed in Canada, with features and configurations chosen to suit local riding needs. Support is also a key part of the value, with dealer locations and service points across Canada, plus remote help for setup and troubleshooting.
Yes, hydraulic disc brakes generally work very well in rain and rough terrain. Compared with traditional rim brakes and cable (mechanical) disc brakes, hydraulic systems tend to deliver more consistent braking feel and stronger control in most wet, muddy, and downhill situations.
One reason is that hydraulic braking is a sealed system, which helps keep water and dirt from affecting the brake’s performance as easily. Disc brake pads and rotors also sit away from the tire sidewall, so they’re less exposed to the water and grime that can reduce braking on rim brakes.
SafeSeal™ is designed to support battery durability, consistency, and everyday usability. Whether it is the right choice depends on your riding needs and preferences.
• The gel-filled internal structure is designed to support internal components and may help limit the spread of internal reactions in the event of a short circuit or thermal event
• Provides additional structural support for battery cells and the BMS, which may improve resistance to vibration and impact during normal use
• May contribute to more stable temperature behavior, helping maintain more consistent performance across different weather conditions
• Includes an added layer of sealing that may assist with resistance to moisture and everyday environmental exposure
As with all lithium-ion batteries, performance and safety depend on proper use, storage, and operating conditions. No battery system can eliminate all risks associated with lithium-ion technology.
UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certification is widely recognized in North America as a leading safety standard for a wide range of products. In today’s e-bike industry, two common UL standards are UL 2271, which focuses on lithium-ion battery safety, and UL 2849, which evaluates the full e-bike electrical system (including the battery, charger, motor, wiring, and key safety functions). An e-bike that meets these standards has been tested to rigorous safety requirements. EMMO electric bicycles are both UL 2271 and UL 2849 certified.
The best ebike for winter is one that prioritizes traction, visibility, and cold-weather battery performance.
For winter riding, look for:
• All-terrain fat tires with a deeper tread for better grip on snow, slush, and packed surfaces
• Built-in lights and turn signals to help you stay visible during shorter days and low-light conditions
• Strong battery performance in colder temperatures; EMMO models equipped with SafeSeal™ battery design are intended to support improved thermal stability and more consistent performance in varying temperatures.
Fenders and a suspension fork can also make winter commutes more comfortable by reducing spray and smoothing out rough, frozen patches.
Yes. Our e-bikes typically arrive about 90–95% pre-assembled.
Depending on the model, you’ll just do some simple unpacking and a few quick installs, such as the front wheel, pedals, or handlebars.

I got the 15.6Ah version since most of my rides are under 30km. So far thats been plenty for what I need and the 3A charger is noticeably quicker than the charger from my older bike. Lights and turn signals are brighter than expected too. The removable battery is really convenient for charging wherever I need it.
The hydraulic brakes have a much firmer feel than the mechanical brakes on my previous bike. I'm around 210lb and ride through a fairly hilly area, so that was important to me. Adjustable rear suspension also helped a lot once I played with the pressure a bit. manual could explain the suspension setup better though.
I bought this style of bike because my rides are never really just one type of road. I have about 8km of regular streets before I hit a trail system, then theres gravel, packed dirt and a couple pretty rough sections with roots. The Spurt Max handles that mix really well. On pavement the 29x2.1 tires dont feel overly chunky, then once I get onto the trail the full suspension starts earning its keep. The torque sensor was something I wasnt sure I'd care about but now I get it, it feels much closer to riding a normal bike just with stronger legs. I'm 5'10 and the fit is comfortable. Moving a 90lb bike around by hand still sucks, but once I'm actually riding it the weight isnt an issue.
I'm 6'1 and the bike fits me really well after adjusting the stem. I mostly ride paved paths with some gravel sections and the suspension takes the rough stuff without feeling too soft. only small thing is the bike is pretty heavy when I have to move it around the garage, but riding it feels great.
I was mostly looking for something comfortable enough for longer weekend rides but still usable around town. The 29 inch tires and full suspension are a really good combo on cracked pavement and gravel. Seat took me a couple rides to get used to, but the actual ride quality is much better than the hardtail I had before.
Went with the 20Ah battery because I didnt want to think about charging all the time. I normally do a mix of bike paths, side streets and a few hills and the range has been more than enough so far. The torque sensor is probably my favourite part, assistance comes in smoothly instead of suddenly kicking you forward.
*The rated travel distance for our E-bikes is determined under ideal conditions, which include a speed of 32 km/h, flat road surfaces, good weather conditions, and the bike being in optimal condition. It's important to note that the actual travel distance may vary due to factors such as the rider's weight, road conditions, weather conditions, and the overall condition of the bike. The actual travel distance may be shorter than the rated distance. We cannot guarantee any specific travel distance and advise riders to plan their trips accordingly.
*In Canada, e-bike regulations vary by province and region. Riders should familiarize themselves with the specific laws in their area. Generally, the maximum speed limit for e-bikes is 32 km/h, which is the default maximum speed for our e-bikes. As the rider, it is your full responsibility to comply with local laws and use the e-bike safely and responsibly. Be sure to check for any specific regulations, such as age requirements, helmet laws, and other applicable rules in your province or municipality. For comparison, in the United States, our e-bikes meet the standards of a Class 2 e-bike, which are defined as bikes that can be powered by a motor up to 32 km/h with a throttle.
*Additional charges may apply for navigation service (service offered by third-party).
*The top speed listed in the specifications represents the legal speed limit for on-road use in most regions. Some models are capable of higher speeds for off-road or special-use purposes. Please consult your local EMMO dealer for details regarding the top speed of this model. It is the rider’s sole responsibility to comply with all applicable laws and regulations when operating this vehicle, including but not limited to speed restrictions.
