FAQs

An appointment isn’t always required, but some dealers and service locations may ask you to book ahead depending on the repair and their schedule.

For the smoothest drop-off and the best chance of a quick turnaround, contact your nearest location in advance so they can confirm timing and whether any parts may be needed for servicing your e-bike.

Find and contact your closest dealer here: https://emmo.ca/pages/locations

Most simple repairs are typically completed within 1-2 business day. Timing can vary based on the season, how many items need attention, whether diagnostics are required, appointment volume, and parts availability; for more involved motor or battery work, our service team can confirm an estimated turnaround after inspection. To get a quick estimate or book service, check with your nearest location: https://emmo.ca/pages/locations

Service options vary by location. In the Greater Toronto Area, we offer pickup & delivery service for select repairs, but do not provide on-site service at the moment. Other authorized dealers across Canada may offer on-site service or pickup & delivery. Availability and pricing vary by dealer.

Yes, we service and repair most mobility scooters, subject to parts availability for your specific model. Typical services include diagnostics, battery replacement, brake adjustments, and tire or tube changes.

To book service and confirm compatibility for your model, please share your scooter’s make and model, then find your nearest dealer by entering your postal code here: https://emmo.ca/pages/locations

Start by confirming the battery is charged and fully seated/connected.

If your model has a removable battery, remove it and reinstall it firmly. Make sure the kickstand is up (on models with a kickstand cut-off), and check that the brake levers aren’t being held down, since some brake sensors can prevent the motor from powering up. If your bike has a reset button or circuit breaker, check whether it needs to be reset. Steps can vary a bit by model.

If it still won’t power on, contact our service team at 1-888-217-1217 or service@emmo.ca for next steps and diagnostics.

Start by confirming the outlet works, fully reseating the charger at both the wall and the bike/battery, and checking the charger’s indicator light for normal behavior.

Next, take a quick look at the charging port and pins for dust, moisture, or a loose fit, and make sure the battery is properly locked/seated (if it’s removable). If you have access to a known-good compatible charger, try it to help confirm whether the issue is with the charger or the battery.

If a battery has been stored without charging for a long time, it may be deeply discharged, and recovery depends on its condition and age. For testing or service, find your nearest dealer at https://emmo.ca/pages/locations or contact our service team at 1-888-217-1217 or service@emmo.ca.

It’s usually related to the charging setup, storage temperature, or a loose connection, and a few quick checks can help pinpoint it.

• Plug the charger into the wall first, then connect it firmly to the battery/charge port and confirm the charger light is on.
• Check the charging port and battery contacts for dirt or looseness, then reseat the battery securely.
• Try a different outlet and allow a longer, uninterrupted charge (especially after storage).
• If the battery was stored cold, let it reach room temperature before charging.

If the battery still won’t hold a charge, the next step is to have the battery and charger tested to confirm whether the issue is the charger, battery, or charging circuit. Contact our service department for troubleshooting: 1-888-217-1217 (toll-free) or email service@emmo.ca.

At minimum, most riders should have a full professional inspection once a year.

As a general guide, a check-up every 6–12 months works well for typical riding, and every 6 months is ideal if you ride often, ride on rough roads, carry higher loads, or use your e-bike year-round. It’s also smart to book an early inspection after the first 300–500 km, since cables can stretch slightly and bolts and spokes may settle during initial use.

A standard service usually covers brake adjustment and pad wear, tire condition and pressure, wheel trueness and spoke tension, drivetrain wear and shifting, and a quick check of lights, wiring, and battery connections. Schedule a sooner inspection if you notice new noises, reduced braking, a wobble, frequent flats, or any change in assist or range.

An e-bike tune-up is routine service that keeps your bike riding smoothly by checking and adjusting key wear items.

A basic tune-up typically covers brake and shifting adjustments, chain lubrication, bolt and fastener checks, tire pressure/condition, and a quick look at the battery, charger, and visible wiring/connectors. A more complete tune-up may add deeper drivetrain cleaning, wheel truing, brake pad replacement, or other parts-and-labour work as needed.

Most tune-ups take about 30–90 minutes depending on the bike’s condition, and parts replacement or major repairs are usually quoted separately. Visit https://emmo.ca/pages/locations to find a nearby dealer and available services.

Yes, we offer repair service for most of the electric scooters, as long as compatible parts are available for your model. Service is handled through our dealer network. To book service, find your closest dealer at https://emmo.ca/pages/locations by entering your postal code.

In many cases, yes—EMMO e-bike batteries can often be diagnosed and serviced in-store, depending on the battery model and its condition.

Service typically starts with a diagnostic to check battery health, charging behavior, and external connections. Common issues involve connectors, wiring, or charging-related components, followed by a verification test. If a battery is at the end of its service life or has been deeply discharged for an extended period, replacement may be the most practical solution.

To get started, contact our service team with your bike model and a brief description of the issue at 1-888-217-1217 or service@emmo.ca, or find a nearby dealer at https://emmo.ca/pages/locations.

No — basic maintenance usually doesn’t require special tools. Most EMMO e-bikes come with a multi-function toolkit that covers simple tasks like adjusting components, along with a tire pump and chain lubricant for routine care.

However, more advanced work — such as servicing hydraulic brakes — requires specialized tools like a brake bleeding kit (https://emmo.ca/collections/other-accessories/products/bicycle-disc-brake-bleed-kit) and proper technical knowledge. For electrical systems or brake servicing, it’s recommended to book an appointment with an authorized EMMO dealer (https://emmo.ca/pages/locations).

Sometimes, but it depends on what needs repair. If the issue affects core riding or electrical systems such as brakes, steering, wheels/tires, the battery, motor, wiring, or unusual overheating, it’s best to pause riding until a technician has checked it.

For minor, non-ride-critical items like a loose accessory, cosmetic damage, or a small adjustment that doesn’t change how the bike handles or stops, short rides may be fine while you wait.

A good next step is to do a quick pre-ride check (brakes, tire pressure, and anything that feels loose), then book service and share what you’re noticing. If anything feels unpredictable or gets worse, stop riding and arrange an inspection.
